Brittany Schmidt and Wes Bennett became the parents of the Creston Valley’s first baby of 2016 last week when their son was born. Brody Ferdinand Melvin Bennett is their first child, and weighed eight pounds, three ounces when he was born at 6:17 p.m. Jan. 5.
The parents of 2015's first baby didn't want any recognition. Previous New Year's babies have included Vance Markus Nevalainen (2014) and Adeline Elyse Dahlia Wassink (2013), the latter of which was the cousin of the first 2009 baby.
