Lisa Michelle Peterson was born August 10, 1983 in Mission, B.C., the only daughter of Alan and Jana Peterson. Raised in Cranbrook, B.C. and Edmonton, Alberta, Lisa later settled in southern Alberta with her daughter, Kyra Lea Peterson. Lisa was tragically killed on July 1, 2017 in a car accident near Lethbridge, Alberta. Lisa worked in law offices in Edmonton before deciding to pursue a law degree. She moved to Coalhurst, Alberta in order to attend the University of Lethbridge. Lisa will be granted a Bachelor of Arts degree posthumously from the University of Lethbridge, where she was enrolled. A generous soul, Lisa loved giving gifts to family and friends. Last Christmas, she hand painted beautiful Christmas cards for her close relatives. Lisa was artistically gifted, loving, kind, and thoughtful. When she put her mind to accomplish something, she did it, despite any obstacles in her path. Lisa loved the outdoors, travelling, adventure, and visiting with family and friends. She had a beautiful smile and caring heart. Lisa’s friends fondly remember her exuberant “Joie de vivre.” Lisa was devoted to her daughter, Kyra. Lisa was preceded in death by her mother, Jana (Laub) Peterson, and Don Jude Robinson, Kyra’s father. Lisa will be dearly missed by her only child, Kyra; her father, Alan Peterson, of Vancouver, B.C.; her grandparents, Bruno and Wanda Laub of Creston, B.C.; her aunt Charmaine Mark of Malibu, California; her uncle and aunt Mark and Brenda Laub of Richmond, B.C.; her uncle and aunt Matt and Michelle Walker of Spokane, Washington; her cousins Matthew, Ryan, Loriann, Chris, Laura, Eric, and Andrew; and her many friends. A Mass was held July 15, 2017 at Holy Cross Hall in Creston, B.C., with Father Sylvester Ubekwe presiding.
