Children taking part in Magic School Bus have some fun at Family Place.

On Wednesday, just over 100 preschool-aged children and their parents took part in the Magic School Bus, an annual event that offers an orientation in preparation for entering school.

Children and parents were picked up by school buses at Creston Valley Elementary schools, then taken to Family Place, the Creston Valley Public Library and the Creston and District Community Complex, where they enjoyed crafts, stories, snacks and treats while parents received information on early childhood services and getting ready for kindergarten.

The free event is sponsored through Ready Set Learn funding, in co-operation with early childhood services, including StrongStart, Success by 6, the Community Action Program for Children, the Columbia Basin Alliance for Literacy and Interior Health.
