About 2,400 spectators enjoyed the annual Creston Demolition Derby, held near Kitchener on Sunday.
Sixteen cars entered the derby, with Sparwood’s Rick Reid walking away the winner, ahead of Shaun Umscheid from Vulcan, Alta., and third-place Jeremy Rusnak of Sparwood.
Two trucks and a van entered the truck heat, which resulted in Martin Zars of Grand Forks placing first.
Cranbrook’s Wanesa Anderson won the powder puff heat, and Creston’s Kyle Wiebe won the grudge match.
