Red Jade Martial Arts is hosting a special event on Oct. 2: a visit from sifu Neil Ripski’s own 18 Lohan teacher, sifu Chen Qi Ming.

Chen has been practicing Lohan for 50 years and is a renowned Chinese doctor from Guangzhuo, China. He immigrated to Canada in 2002 and has been Ripski’s teacher since then.

His visit to Red Jade is a rare opportunity to train with and ask questions of a high-level doctor of Chinese medicine and qigong master.

“Master Chen has officially retired from teaching lohan qigong and, as such, this visit, where he will teach one more time, is historic,” said Ripski. “Rarely does a master and famous Chinese doctor share so openly with students and the public. It will most likely be the last trip he makes to visit me here in Creston.”

Chen’s session will begin at 7 p.m. at Red Jade Martial Arts; admission is a drop-in fee of $20. For more information, contact Red Jade Martial Arts at 250-402-8384.
