This past month saw much activity both on and off the mats. At the end of April, the Creston Judo Club was represented by Brody Archambault, Evan Felitsyn, Lawson Banbury, Finn from Victoria and Grace from Kamloops to win bronze in the Burnaby competition.

Fundraising for the Creston Judo Club was a rousing success with the Creston Judo Club April Monthly Cash Calendar. Congratulations to this year’s 2019 winners and a big thank you to Jennifer Felitsyn for the organization of the fundraiser. Watch for next year’s calendar fundraiser for your chance to be a winner.

On May 4 in Raymond, Alberta for the Katsuta Kup tournament, Taitem Grindle, Olexa Felitsyn, Quynn Catcheway, Jax Archambault, Elijah Bayley, and Josh Gendron participated in the main event.

Connor Grindle received a Gold as a U14 competitor. Another highlight from this event was welcoming Josh Gendron to our Creston team with his first ever tournament. All seven competitors showed the highest quality of sportsmanship and determination to perform their very best!

Thank you to JH Huscroft for sponsoring both tournaments, Jennifer Felitsyn for food prep, Sensei Leelen, Sensei Joel for chaperoning our team in Burnaby and Sensei Laura for accompanying our athletes in Raymond.

As a club, we send our encouragement to Shianne Gronen in Peru and Brae Booth in Edmonton.

Upcoming events include participation in Dash for Trash and the annual Creston Judo Club Year-End Banquet and Fundraising dinner.
