Fans of volleyball, or people who just want to see a Prince Charles Secondary School grad on a world sports stage can watch the six-country FIVB (Fédération Internationale de Volleyball) Volleyball World League final men’s volleyball tournament starting today.

Creston’s Gord Perrin helped lead Canada to first place in group C, and Canada’s national team is now in Mar Del Plata, Argentina, to play against Russia and No. 1-ranked Brazil in an attempt to move on to the semi-finals. Other countries in the final round are Italy, Bulgaria and Argentina.

This is the first time Canada has made the final round in the FIVB World League.

Sportsnet will carry both of Team Canada’s round robin matches live, as well as the semifinal and championship matches.

The broadcast schedule is:

Russia vs. Canada, 4:30 p.m. EST July 18, live on Sportsnet One; encore 9 p.m. EST on Sportsnet One;

Canada vs. Brazil, 3:30 p.m. EST July 19, live on Sportsnet One; encore 9 p.m. EST on Sportsnet One;

Semifinal No. 1, 3:30 p.m. EST July 20, live on Sportsnet One;

Semifinal No. 2, 7 p.m. EST July 20, live on Sportsnet One;

Final (No. 1 vs. No. 2), 7 p.m. EST July 21, live on Sportsnet One; and

Final (No. 3 vs. No. 4), 9:30 p.m. July 21, tape delayed on Sportsnet One.

All matches will also be streamed on FIVB Web TV.
