In the second meet of the season, held in Trail on June 15 and 16, Creston Wave Swim Club swimmers raced hard, improved their times and won medals.

Medal winners from Creston included Carter Pelly, who placed first in all four of her events, taking home the gold medal for Div. 3 girls. Pelly also took off 4.68 seconds in her 100-metre individual medley, breaking 1:30 for a time of 1:29.35.

Caytlyn Luke improved her 50-metre freestyle by 12.73 seconds and took an amazing 21.73 seconds off of her div. 4 girls 100-metre freestyle.

Div. 4 girl Alex Mottl got best times in four of her races, including smashing 22.24 seconds off her 50-metre butterfly.

Ashley Mottl got a best time of 3:28.14 in her Div. 4 girls 200-metre individual medley and placed sixth in her 100-metre backstroke.

Kylee Pemberton improved in her 100-metre freestyle for a time of 1:47.44 and placed in the top eight in the 50-metre butterfly and 100-metre backstroke heats for the Div. 4 girls.

Jeffrey Roelofse competed in his second meet, placing ninth for the Div. 2 boys 100-metre freestyle with a best time of 2:15.40.

Sierra Simpson got a best time in all three of her races, including 5.65 seconds off of her Div. 3 girls 100-metre freestyle, for which she placed third.

Sebastian Thompson swam hard at his second meet, improving by 1.91 seconds and placing third in his Div. 3 boys 50-metre butterfly heats.

Jacob Wiens took an insane amount of time off in all four of his races, including 29.80 seconds in his 50-metre backstroke, for which he placed second in the Div. 1 boys heats. His sister, Katelyn, also splashed a ton of time off of her races, including 23.52 seconds off in her 100-metre freestyle and placed sixth in the Div. 4 girls 50-metre freestyle.

Callum Ziefflie raced at his first ever swim meet and placed third for the boys novice division in 25-metre backstroke and fourth in the 25-metre freestyle.

Coach Kevin Woykin placed third for the Div. 8 men’s 100-metre backstroke and second in Div. 8 men’s 100-metre freestyle.
