Creston Valley Thunder Cats enter KIJHL playoffs

Following a win and a loss against the Nelson Leafs on the weekend, the Creston Valley Thunder Cats finished the season with 57 points.

Following a win and a loss against the Nelson Leafs on the weekend, the Creston Valley Thunder Cats finished the season with 57 points, in second place in the Eddie Mountain Division of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League.

The Leafs beat Creston 4-3 on Friday, before Creston visited Nelson on Saturday and returned the favour, also with a 4-3 score.

On Monday, the Thunder Cats started the first round of playoffs, taking on the Golden Rockets, but losing 4-3, with goals by Brandon Formosa and Cody Antos (two).

Game 2 on Tuesday had a far more lopsided result, with goals by Formosa, Colton Meaden, Jordan Johnson, Ryan Hewitt, Scott Swiston and Jovi Fabbri earning the Thunder Cats a 6-2 victory.

The Thunder Cats play in Golden tonight and tomorrow, returning to Creston on Saturday for game 5.
