Creston teams win BC Masters Curling playoffs

The BC Interior Masters Curling Association Zone 2 playoffs were held at the Creston Curling Centre on Jan. 13 and 14. Three teams competed in the 60-plus category and two teams in the 70-plus category.

The teams qualifying for the provincial championship, are Creston’s Doug Bothamley rink — skip Doug Bothamley, third Laddie Pavlis, second Vern Ronmark, lead Ross Gowan and fifth player Terry O’Connor — in the 60-plus division, and Creston’s Al Tholl Rink — skip Al Tholl, third Lloyd Lind, second Mike Seaton and lead Jim Allen — in the 70-plus division.

The winning teams will travel to Salmon Arm for the provincial championship from Feb. 25-28, where there will be an eight-team round robin playoff involving four teams from the BCIMCA and four teams from the Pacific Coast Masters Curling Association.
