The Creston Wave Swim Club attended the Kimberley meet on July 27 and 28, with 29 swimmers.
Amber Hare impressed the crowd, taking off 10.76 seconds in 100-metre freestyle, placing in the top 10 for Div. 2 girls.
Natasha Hopkins obtained three huge best times in her races and placed fifth in her 100-metre individual medley for Div. 1 girls.
Levi Huber competed for the first time in Div. 1, strongly finishing all of his six races and obtaining best times in 50-metre- and 100-metre freestyle.
Caytlyn Luke broke the four-minute mark, taking 21.99 seconds off of her 200-metre individual medley, and also placed seventh in the Div. 4 girls 100-metre backstroke.
Sebastian Thompson slashed 5.92 seconds off of his 50-metre backstroke, placing sixth for Div. 3 boys.
Jacob Wiens flew through the water in his 50-metre backstroke, placing fourth for Div. 1 boys. His sister, Katelyn, took off 8.70 seconds off of her 200-metre individual medley and placed in the top 10 for Div. 4 girls.
Coach Kevin Woykin swam hard, placing third in the Div. 8 men’s 50-metre freestyle, with a time of 29.71 seconds.
Callum Ziefflie continued to splash tons of time off of his races and placed first for novice boys in the 25-metre breaststroke and freestyle.
Quinn Page motored through his races, taking off an insane 39.01 seconds in his 100-metre freestyle and placed second in his Div. 1 boys 50-metre backstroke.
Kylee Pemberton worked hard all week and it showed in her 200-metre individual medley, as she took off 17.81 seconds in her race, placing her 13th for Div. 4 girls.
Hayden Persad motored through the pool, taking off 6.71 seconds in his Div. 2 boys 100-metre freestyle. Isaiah Persad also took a huge amount of time off in his Div. 3 boys 100-metre freestyle for a time of 1:52.13. Nadine Persad pulled fast in her Div. 1 girls 50-metre freestyle, placing her 17th.
Delaney Mackinlay took off over 10 seconds in the 25-metre butterfly and backstroke, placing third for novice girls. Madisyn Mackinlay took off 3.23 seconds in her Div. 3 girls 50-metre breaststroke and placed fifth for the Div. 3 girls 50-metre butterfly. Niki Mackinlay greatly improved her technique, placing sixth in the Div. 1 girls 100-metre individual medley.
Jessica Mickelson broke the three-minute mark, taking off an insane 46.22 seconds in the Div. 2 girls 100-metre freestyle. Kaleigh Mickelson got best times in all six of her races and placed fifth in the Div. 2 girls 50-metre butterfly.
Kate Page got four best times and placed 10th in the Div. 2 girls 50-metre butterfly.
Jeffrey Roelofse took off 8.38 seconds in his 50-metre breaststroke and 9.02 seconds in his 100-metre individual medley, placing him 11th for the Div. 2 boys.
Regan Sanderson went home with four best times and placed in the top 10 in the Div. 3 girls 50-metre breaststroke and backstroke, and 100-metre individual medley.
Sierra Simpson took off 1.57 seconds, placing a strong third in the Div. 3 girls 50-metre butterfly.
Medal winners for the meet included Spencer Kilmartin, who obtained a best time of 9.02 seconds in his 100-metre freestyle and took home the boy’s “O” Category 1 gold medal.
Carter Pelly placed first in all six of her events and obtained an insane time of 1:12.62 in the Div. 3 girls 100-metre freestyle. She also set a new meet record in her 100-metre individual medley and took home the girls Div. 3 aggregate gold medal.
Mack Sanderson took off nearly 15 seconds in his 100-metre individual medley, placing him second for Div. 1 boys. He also took home the boys Div. 1 aggregate silver medal.
Emily Simpson placed first in her Div. 5 girls 100-metre breaststroke, setting a new meet record of 1:23.97 seconds and took home the Div. 5 girls aggregate silver medal.
Kieran Simpson achieved four best times and placed first in the Div. 6 boys 100-metre breaststroke. He also earned the Div. 6 boys aggregate bronze medal.
Coach Monique Ares got a best time of 1:29.73, placing her second in the Div. 8 women’s 100-metre butterfly and took home the aggregate bronze medal.
