The Prince Charles Secondary School senior boys AA basketball team had a great showing at the provincial championship despite losing all 4 games. The Bulldogs went into the March 9-12 tournament ranked 16th and started off playing the No. 1 ranked team, Chilliwack’s G.W. Graham.

The boys gave it their best shot, but Chilliwack was just too strong, with great outside shooting and strong play under the net. The final score 98-42. Jacob Dumas and Jamond Dortman led the scoring, with 16 and 14 points, respectively.

Creston took on No. 8 ranked South Okanagan on the consolation side. Creston played great defence in the first half and went up 12 points, but strong outside shooting gave South Okanagan the lead by half time. Creston came out slow in the second but clawed their way back to within three, but came up just short, losing 92-85. Dumas was named player of the game, scoring 54 points and being in double figures in steals and rebounds.

Creston took on Kelly Road from Prince George, and again the boys played well throughout the game, but a slow start in the second put them behind and again they fell short 78-71. Dumas led with 27, Jordin Czar 19 and Dortman 17.

Creston played Smithers in their last game of the provincial championship.  The Bulldogs came out strong and took a lead by the end of the first quarter. The teams exchanged baskets until late in the first half, where Smithers finished strong and took a six-point lead at half. Creston kept it close, staying within six by the end of the third quarter, but Smithers slowly increased the lead in the fourth with strong shooting. The final score was 103-85. Czar led the scoring with 31 and Dumas 26.
