Two members of the Creston Judo Club won gold medals at the prestigious Stevetson Judo Club tournament on Nov. 22 in Richmond.
After going undefeated in the round robin in the under-60 kilogram U-14 division, Kyle Qualiteri won gold when he beat a much higher ranked and older blue/green belt in the final match.
Also going undefeated in the round robin competition was Kaeden Rendek, who won gold in the U-16 division for under-50 kilogram competitors. Rendek also brought home Creston’s third gold medal of the day when the 14-year-old competitor won against much older and higher ranked participants in the U-18 division.
