In February, Kaeden Rendek represented the Creston Judo Club and Zone 8 (Kootenay) at the BC Winter Games held in Mission. Rendek won a gold medal in the U-16 division at the games and went undefeated during the round robin and medal matches.
Competing at the BC Open Judo Tournament in Vernon on April 11 and 12, Kyle Qualtieri, representing the Creston Judo Club, won a gold medal in the U-14 division. He also went undefeated during the tournament.
The club extends its appreciation to the parents and coaches, for supporting all of the students, as well as to the Creston and valley residents for their continual support of the club. For their support, 2014 cash raffle winners were Carolyn Djakovic ($500), Tyler Casemore ($300) and Sheila Qualtieri ($100).
