At the Fernie judo tournament held Jan. 25, nine competitors and two coaches represented the Creston Judo Club.

Kyle Qualtieri won a gold medal in U-14 and the 11-year-old competitor also won a silver medal in U-16. Qualtieri also had the “throw” of the tournament where he threw a much older competitor for an Ippon in the U-16 division.

Winning gold were Daniel Fabbro, Lawson Banbury, William Holm and Kaeden Rendek. Silver medals were presented to Cheyenne Albert and Joseph Albert. Bronze medals were presented to Robert Holm and Levi Huber.

The club extends its appreciation to the parents and coaches for supporting all of the competitors, as well as to the Creston and valley residents for their continual support of the club.
