Creston Darts team makes it to provincials

Local throwers come out on top at zone tournament

The Creston Legion hosted the Zone Darts championships in February, with four Kootenay branches in action — Creston, Cranbrook, Sparwood and Invermere.

The Creston team came out on top. Jamie O’Neil won first in Zones Singles, Hemi Kingi and Tom Clemens won first in Zones Doubles, and the team of Hemi Kingi, Syndie Gagnon, Bob Tourigny, Jamie O’Neil and Tom Clemens came in second in Zone competition.

All players then headed off to the Provincials in Kelowna, March 16 and 17. At the Provincial championships, Jamie took 3rd, and Hemi and Tom got 10th.

Sponsors for the Provincial team were Z-KO Construction, Kokanee Ford, Home Hardware, North Town Rental
