An alumni tea was part of the 50th annual Valentine Bonspiel hosted by the Creston Curling Centre in February.

Among those attending the landmark event was Donna Salvador, who played in the first Valentine Bonspiel. Joined by her daughters, she threw a commemorative rock with her daughters at this year’s.

The women's bonspiel started in 1963, and has missed only one year after the Creston civic centre burned down in 1968. It draws team from B.C., Alberta, Idaho and Washington.

In addition to the main event and the tea, this year's curlers enjoyed karaoke, a dance and a costume contest, the latter a regular part of the bonspiel since the early 1980s.
