The BC Hockey Peewee Tier 3 championship kicked off on Sunday morning at the John Bucyk Arena, with an opening ceremony that evening MCed by John Kettle.

The festivities included members of the Creston Valley Figure Skating Club, Lower Kootenay Band dancers, a parade of the Creston Chiefs and 10 other teams from B.C. and the Yukon.

The Chiefs played their second game of the series following a ceremonial puck drop by Alexis Folk, and lost 1-0 to Quesnel. The Chiefs had lost two other games, 2-0 to Dawson Creek on Sunday morning and 5-1 to the Burnaby Winter Club on Monday night, but beat Whitehorse 2-1 on Tuesday and Castlegar 5-2 on Wednesday.

The event concludes tomorrow morning with at third place game at 8 a.m. and the championship game at 11 a.m., immediately followed by the closing ceremonies.
