Photographers across the province have had ample opportunity to capture nature in action this summer as wildfires rage.
Erickson photographer Eric Zook took it a step further, capturing the action on the ground and in the sky, when he captured this shot of Idaho’s Parker Ridge wildfire and a meteor — not to mention, of course, the Milky Way — on the evening of Aug. 12 during the Perseids meteor shower.
He took the 25-second exposure from the top of Mount Thompson, east of Creston, where he was able to shoot above the wildfire’s smoke.
