The 25th annual Yaqan Nukiy Powwow hosted by the Lower Kootenay Band was a popular event on the long weekend, with some dancers travelling over 17 hours to attend.
After Sunday's grand entry, dancers in regalia were asked to pick spectators not in regalia to dance with — leading to a dance-off — followed by a "tiny tots" segment, as well as dances for elder men and women.
