The Stars of the Festival showcase on Sunday featured over two dozen competitors from the weeklong adjudicated Creston Festival of the Arts.

Winners in the piano category were Stella Blackmore (performance award), Cory Hammond (concerto award), Rasmus Knudsen (primary), Emma Penner (intermediate), Noah Koekoorn (intermediate), Ben Collison (advanced), Andrea Daignault (adjudicator’s choice), Marissa and Kayla Koehoorn (ensemble) and Alec Hammond (best overall).

In the strings category, winners were Cory Hammond (primary), Emma Penner (intermediate), Logan Hammond (intermediate), Ian Mackay (advanced), Logan Penner (adjudicator’s choice) and Megan Bibby (best overall). The ensemble award went to Megan Bibby, Skylar Eye and Taija Bibby of the Venetian Consort, and Katelyn Wiens, Megan Bibby, Matisse Harms, Noelle Lavallee, Destiny Geddes and Taija Bibby of the Con Brio Double Trio.

The speech arts and drama category returned this year — it hasn’t been part of the festival since its first year, 2006 — and its winners were Anjali Ewing, Kaitlyn Ziola and Emilie Pinto (performance), Skylar Eyre (intermediate), Emilie Pinto (adjudicator’s choice), Dave Aldrich and Elizabeth Nygren (group) and Tierney Hula (best overall).
