Supporting PAWS would be a hardship for Creston taxpayers

It would mean that the above citizens would be paying PAWS to feed somebody’s dog or cat with their grocery money...

To the Editor:

For our Regional District of Central Kootenay directors to even entertain the thought of taxpayers subsidizing the Pet Adoption and Welfare Society shelter is absolutely preposterous.

This would-be hardship is not in the budget for seniors on pensions and taxpayers with low incomes. If such a tax was imposed, it would mean that the above citizens would be paying PAWS to feed somebody’s dog or cat with their grocery money.

It is time for our regional directors to resign, as they appear to have lost touch with reality.
