To the Editor:
I inquired as to why Canada Post has opened a second outlet in our town of 5,000 people while discontinuing home service to 10,000 homes across Canada. The excuse of Saturday service and longer hours could have been accomplished in current post office. It seems to me to be an attempt to get postal workers dispensed with in favour of lower paid retail clerks.
If a second outlet was needed, why not at the other end of town?
