Grateful to neighbours for helping dying horse

To the Editor:

When most of the news we see and hear seems to be about man’s inhumanity to man, I write this to thank friends and neighbours who quickly came to the rescue of one of my horses, whom I had been informed was down and unable to get up while I was away at Christmas.

They came and worked tirelessly to rescue him from where he had fallen, and lovingly cared for him until he lost his battle with death at age 29, and even saw him safely buried. My gratitude will always be with each and every one who took part in caring for my pet.

Sultan was born, raised and buried in the same pasture.
