To the Editor:

A few weeks ago we needed to travel through your area and had the misfortune of having the water pump on the truck go. We were just outside of Yahk on a busy section of highway in an area that had no cellphone service.

Thank you to the fellow that stopped to help us. He had experienced the exact same mishap three nights prior and was kind enough to radio his logging buddies who recommended a tow truck company. We also would like to thank the conservation officer who stopped not long after, and would be on the lookout for the tow truck as he made his way to Creston.

A heartfelt thanks to Earl of Earl’s Towing and his family for their generous help and hospitality in helping us get back on the road. It is truly appreciated and will not be forgotten. If you are ever in our neck of the woods, we would be glad to repay the favour. Please don’t hesitate to call on us!

We would also like to thank the elderly gentleman who lived just across from where we broke down. The use of your phone to get in touch with the other party we were travelling with was appreciated.

Together, you saved our holiday! It is a great feeling to know there are still kindhearted souls left in the world we live in.
