Garbage dumped on Canyon property

To the Editor:

To all the lazy people out there who like to dump their garbage in other people’s backyards, it’s time to stop. I live in Canyon and just recently found a pile of fluorescent bulbs (maybe taken from an office) on my property, dangerous and toxic to me and my neighbours who like to go for walks with their dogs and horseback riders who go through this area.

Guess who has to clean it up. Me, and thanks a lot, considering most of them are broken.

We have an old gravel pit close by and someone has generously dropped an old brown TV stand, TV and (appropriately) a stop sign. I have to drive by their garbage every day unless I want to pay to dispose of it at the dump. Why should I?

Who do they think is going to take care of it once they leave it, the garbage fairies? I’m not sure if I’m the only one with this problem, but it’s getting really old really fast.

For those few who are reading this: If if was you who dumped these things, maybe you could come by and pick up your garbage and take it to the dump like every other decent person has to.
