Food for thought on plastic bag use

I’ve changed my shopping ways.

Letter to the Editor;

I liked the article by Tom Fletcher on plastic bags. Here’s food for thought on plastic bag use in the produce department of grocery stores. I’m taking this out of the latest article in AARP flyer. How safe is your supermarket titled, Finger-licking bagger? A lot of customers lick their fingers to pry open an off-the-roll plastic bag before picking through the produce, so saliva from untold numbers of people coats the produce. Lick and open with one hand, handle produce with the other and be sure to wash raw produce when you get home. That being said I’ve changed my shopping ways. Oh yeah, I caught my wife putting a plastic wrapped English cucumber in a plastic bag. Go figure huh.
