Creston taxes should not increase to pay for RCMP

Regarding increased taxes to pay for policing, enough is enough — no more increases for anything!

To the Editor:

Regarding increased taxes to pay for policing, enough is enough — no more increases for anything! Town council and the Regional District of Central Kootenay have got to be accountable for these costs.

If the town had a million dollars set aside years ago, then we could have had our own police force of four or five constables today at half the cost of the RCMP. Another tax increase is out of the question. This time, the mayor and town council have to be held accountable.
