Creston parent disappointed by Fernie parent's comment

As a parent of one of the kids on the Creston bantam hockey team, I was disappointed to see in writing the fact that a parent from Elk Valley called in to report the theft and had the nerve to state it may have been orchestrated to throw Elk Valley “off its game.” The Creston Bantam team played their hearts out to win this game and these sorts of comments leave a very dark cloud over what should be a moment to celebrate.

The parents of the Creston team were upset to hear of the theft and many got in their own vehicles and drove around to look for the culprit. Others called in to police and did what they could to assist. This sort of thing puts our community in a bad light and it is frustrating that it occurred under our very noses.

Hockey is already very political and it disappoints me to hear another parent thinking we would stoop to this level and it disappoints me more that such a comment has been put to ink and paper.
