To the Editor:
On Aug. 14, our son-in-law and daughter’s rental property on Canyon-Lister Road burned down. Thankfully, no one was in the house at the time so there were no injuries.
We were impressed with the prompt and efficient service provided by the Canyon-Lister Fire Department and the followup later that evening. It gives us confidence to know that our rural area can rely on this kind of help in such emergencies. We should never take for granted how fortunate we are that local residents are prepared to undertake time consuming training in order to be available when events like this take place.
Our heartfelt thanks to each of the team members who were on duty that evening.
