To the Editor:
On the afternoon of Nov. 23, I went to Black Bear Books to collect my copy of I’ll be Home Soon by Luanne Armstrong. I finished it before midnight — it is one of those stories which quickly engages you and will not let you go. The heroine is 13 and she taught me plenty. I wondered why it had sold for only $12.50.
The next day I began another book by the same author, The Light through the Trees: Reflections on Land and Farming. This is an easy read and highly recommended for anyone who needs or would like (or not like) to give his/her head a shake.
