William James Gardner

We regret the passing of William James Gardner on December 14, 2011 in Cranbrook BC, at the age 85.
He was born in Kaslo May 1, 1926 to William and Christina and was the youngest and the last of five siblings. Bill grew up in Tupper, BC. He returned to the Kootenays where he was employed with CPR, living in Nelson and also Ymir where he owned a service station. Upon retirement he moved to a farm in Ymir (El Rancho not so Grande). His last 13 years were spent on a hobby farm in Creston.
He owned his own plane and had a great passion for flying. His other interests were motorcycles, hunting, fishing, prospecting and of course, wheeling and dealing.
He loved his animals, always having a dog in his life. His dog Tommy was always by his side.
Bill will be sadly and deeply missed by family and friends. He leaves behind daughters Gwen of Balfour, Darlene (Tom) of Victoria; son Arnold (Betty-Anne) of Campbell River; grandchildren Dana, Jesslyn, Ria, Quentin, Shelby and Heather, and five great-grandsons.
