William Edward Elliot passed away suddenly on October 28, 2020 at the Creston Valley Hospital, in Creston, BC.
Bill will be sorely missed and forever remembered by his family; Debbie Elliot, Sharon Zorn and Darrin Fluter, Gerald and Johanna Elliot, grandchildren April, Tyson, Evan, Eric, Wilson and Nolan, and his great grandchildren Autumn and Dayton; his sister Carol Brandt in Winnipeg, and his companion Helena Turnquist in Creston.
Bill's wife Helen Elliot (nee Enns) passed away in 2012.
Bill was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and spent much of his life in southern Manitoba. Bill and Helen were married in 1959, and raised their family in the Winnipeg and Brandon areas. Bill spent time in the military (PPCLI), as a miner, and then worked for Feed Rite Mills for many years.
Bill and Helen retired to Creston in 1992, and became active in that community. Bill was an avid fisher, hunter, and outdoorsman throughout his life. He also enjoyed playing cards, tending his yard, doing projects and reading.
He was a member of the Swan Valley Swingers Square Dance Club, the Creston Valley Rod and Gun Club and the Creston Curling Club.
Bill led an active life and was always ready for an adventure. He was curious, and a life-long learner who was quick to chuckle when something amused him.
A private celebration of Bill's life will be held at a later date. For friends wishing to make a memorial contribution, please direct that to the Creston Curling Club, 312 19 Ave N, Creston BC, V0B 1G0.
