William “Bill” David Burt

William “Bill” David Burt passed away peacefully at Creston Valley Hospital on October 30, 2016 at the age of 101 years. Bill was born in Garden Plain, Alberta and was educated at Crowhill School, AB. He received his Agricultural Certificate from Olds College in Alberta and grew up helping his dad run the grain elevators, later becoming a farmer at Scapa, AB.
Bill married Augusta in 1937 and they farmed together until moving to the Creston Valley in 1978. They were married for 76 years. He was a member of FUA and Co-Op. He loved music and often played at Pioneer Villa. Bill was an advocate for alternative healing and was a certified practitioner of Healing Touch, Reiki, Foot Reflexology, Piezo and Magnet therapy.
He was predeceased by his wife Augusta (nee Boehlke), and a great-grandson Baby Chase.
Bill is survived by his son Robert Burt of Creston BC, two granddaughters and four great-granddaughters.
Friends wishing to make a memorial contribution may do so to their local Canadian Red Cross or to a charity of their choice.
A private graveside service will be held in Alberta at a later date.
