William (Bill) Cherowka Sr.
March 8, 1924 ~ May 23, 2011
William (Bill) Cherowka Sr. passed away on May 23, 2011 at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital, Cranbrook, BC at the age of 87 years, after a lengthy illness.
Bill was born to Eunice and Kost Cherowka on March 8, 1924 at Shell Valley, Manitoba, where he received his formal education. He was a self motivated individual and was self employed in the construction industry most of his working life. Bill married Anna Dyck on February 11, 1951 at Holmfield, Manitoba raising three children. He enjoyed fishing and the outdoors.
He was predeceased by brothers George, Mike, John and sister Mary.
Bill will be dearly missed by his wife Anna; son Al (Jackie) of Creston; daughters Sharon-Colleen (Dave) Kiehlbauch of Creston and Lorna (Keith) McColm of Cranbrook; 9 grandchildren, 14.5 great-grandchildren; sister Ann of Windsor, ON and numerous nieces and nephews.
The private family funeral service was held on Saturday May 28, 2011 at 11:00 at the G.F. Oliver Funeral Chapel with Pastor Brian Atmore officiating.
Interment followed at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erickson, BC.
