Wesley Robert Skerik

April 5, 1923 ~ July 5, 2012


Wesley Robert (Wes) Skerik passed away in the early hours of July 5, 2012 with his family by his side at the age of 89 years.


Wes was born to parents Edith and William Skerik in Stettler, AB on April 5, 1923. He moved to Lister, BC with his family in 1935. Wes joined the RCAF in 1942 and went to Britain during WWII. He was a prisoner of war in Germany until the end of the war. He then met his wife to be, Mae Connell, in Scotland. In 1960, Wes took over the family farm and raised his family there until moving into Creston in 1973.

He was predeceased by his wife Mae in 1997; parents Edith and William and his two brothers.

Wes will be lovingly remembered by his five sons, Ken, Don, Len, Doug and Ron and their families, and his companion of fourteen years, Joyce Retzlaff.


The Funeral Service was held Monday July 9, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Harry Haberstock officiating.
