Viola Arrowsmith

May 10, 1927 ~ July16, 2011


Viola Arrowsmith passed away peacefully on July 16, 2011 surrounded by her four loving children.

Viola was born May 10, 1927 in Renata, BC to Margaret and Henry Toews. She married Bob Arrowsmith and resided in Arrow Creek for 67 years on a farm raising cattle, different crops with the specialty being turnips. Viola was a very devoted mother and lived for her family. She extended her generosity to everyone she knew. Viola loved playing cards, gardening, cross country skiing, walking, sewing, reading, and appreciated music as her favourite pastime. She was an excellent cook and made the best buns, perogies and gingersnaps.


Viola is survived by her son Robert (Laurie); three daughters, Louise Heric (Mike), Gwen Wilson (Jim Hellman) and Denise Ludwar (Dwayne); 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Viola will be sadly missed by all that knew her and will forever be remembered as a very special lady.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind or Canadian Cancer Society.

Viola's family is sincerely grateful to Dr. Griffion, Jim Hill, Ina Corbin, Mary Oler, Madeline, Teresa, and Lana.


A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 31, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m, on the family farm in Arrow Creek for all her family and friends.
