Vincent Stephen Hernandez

Vincent Stephen Hernandez passed away suddenly on April 4, 2011, at the age of 51.

Born in Chilliwack, BC, on July 9, 1959, Steve and his family came to Creston in 1975. Steve graduated from PCSS in 1977 and began working for the Town of Creston in 1980. Steve loved his job and was dedicated to maintaining the beauty and landscape of Creston for all to enjoy. Responsible for Parks and Cemeteries, Steve was the Town of Creston’s current longest serving employee with nearly 31 years service. Steve also served on the Creston Fire Department for 9 years.

Steve had many interests and passions. He loved anything that had to do with the outdoors including, fishing, hiking, camping, swimming, horseback riding and especially hunting. Steve was always ready for adventure and loved to explore, build and create. Steve was always willing to lend a hand to and lived life to the fullest with his, “Yeah, Sure!” attitude.

Steve was predeceased by his first wife, Corinne, his maternal grandfather Ted Russell, paternal grandmother Isabel Hernandez, his uncle Bill Russell and both his in-laws, Robert and Laurine Dunlop.

Steve will be sadly missed by his wife, Sandy, his children Keigan (Tyler) Aldrich, Chelcie VanStrepen, Rochelle (Nathan) Connelly, Shea Lodermeier, Bryan Stephenson, Tyson Lodermeier and Kayla (Brandon Kalyn) Hernandez; parents Vincent and Evelyn Hernandez; siblings, Marian (Philip) Taudin-Chabot, Alan (Silvana) Hernandez, Brent (Misayo) Hernandez, Janice (Ward) Bautz, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.


A Memorial Service, with Pastor Harry Haberstock officiating, was held in the Creston Room, on April 9, 2011.
