In Loving Memory ~
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Veronica "Flo" Florence Van Oene (nee Gottfried) on March 6th, 2023, at the age of 91 years.
Flo was born on January 21st, 1932, in Gimli, MB, to parents Catherine and Leon Gottfried.
She loved quilting and was a charter member of the Quilters Guild of Creston, which was formed in 1983.
In September 1956 Flo married the love of her life, Bill and together they travelled Europe with the Canadian Military. It was in France and Germany where their four daughters, Karen, Roxie, Sandra, and Yvonne were born. Flo had a wonderful sense of humour and enjoyed spending her time with family members.
In 1978, the family moved to Creston, where they enjoyed spending their lives.
Flo was predeceased by her parents, Catherine and Leon Gottfried, daughter Yvonne in 1978, and grandson Travis in 1992.
Flo will be lovingly remembered by her husband Bill, daughters Karen (Russ), Roxie (Bruce), and Sandra (Barry), six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two sisters and a brother, as well as many nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Flo's wishes, no service will be held. Friends wishing to make a memorial contribution may do so to Swan Valley Lodge, PO Box 1880, Creston, BC, V0B 1G0.
