Vere Proctor
April 23, 1908 ~ October 9, 2010
It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Vere Proctor on October 9, 2010 in Creston BC,at the age of 102 years.
For six decades he lived and farmed in the Rochester, AB area. In 1976 Vere moved to Creston where his new wife Sophie lived.
Vere was predeceased by his first wife Daisy in 1973, son Harvey in 1975 and his wife Sophie in 2006.
He will be dearly missed by his sons Dave (Roszann) of Creston, Garry (Mabel) of Regina, SK; daughter-in-law Joan (Harvey) of Westlock, AB; sister Viva Solomon of Vancouver, and stepson Don (Bunny) Barrett of Creston.
There are many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews that will miss him as well.
Vere resided at the Swan Valley Lodge and loved the nurses that cared for him. He never complained, just went along with life as best as he could.
A visitation took place Wednesday October 13, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. at the G.F. Oliver Funeral Chapel, and a Memorial Service was held Thursday October 14, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses with Jerry Hellens officiating.
A Graveside Service took place in Rochester, AB at the Peaceful Pine Cemetery on Saturday October 16, 2010 at 2:00 p.m.
