August 9, 1934 - March 6, 2025

It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Vera Halifax. She was 90 years young and a remarkable woman who left us on the 6th of March 2025. She was surrounded by the love of her family and friends. She was born on the 9thof August 1934 in Orion, Alberta.

Her passions were many. She loved music, singing and played a mean dobro. She was at peace when surrounded by the wonder of nature. She was a dedicated hiker and birder and spent countless hours immersed in the beauty of the outdoors. She had a particular fondness for birds and butterflies. Vera loved to travel and discover new places, cultures and people. Her adventures took her far and wide. She cherished her newfound experiences and friendships.

Vera was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She is survived by her dear brother Harry Gwinner (Anne) and her beloved children, Steven Halifax (Louise), Judy Bauer (Dan), Sandra Chenuz (Kurt), her 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Vera was tragically predeceased by her son Terry Halifax and her grandson Samuel Halifax.

Vera lived a full life of vibrancy and resilience. She was a beacon of strength and unyielding spirit. She touched the lives of everyone she met with kindness warmth and a radiant personality.

A celebration of life will be held with her close family on her birthday this August. Donations, if desired, may be made in Vera's name to TAPS where she found many treasured friends from the Creston Community.

We will forever carry her love in our hearts and her memory will live on in the many lives she touched.
