June 25, 1952 - January 21, 2025

In loving memory ~

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Terrance Elwood McCurrach, known fondly as Terry, on January 21, 2025, at the age of 72.

Born on June 25, 1952, Terry is survived by his mother, Bernice McCurrach, brother Bucky McCurrach, sister Sherry (Jeff) Pellegrin, niece Deda (Gregg) Pliska, stepdaughter Rochelle (Neal) Halbauer-Ober, nephew Link (Gaylene) Opper, great-nephew Colton (Baili & Atlyn) Pliska, and great-niece Jaden (Tyler) Laidlaw.

Terry was predeceased by his father, Elwood McCurrach, and his brother, Timothy McCurrach.

Terry worked at the sawmill for 42 years. Starting in Creston, then transferred to Cranbrook and finishing his career in Canal Flats.

Terry's love for life was boundless, especially when it came to the rodeo and the great outdoors. He was an accomplished rodeo competitor, having participated in gymkhana, saddle bronc riding, bull riding, steer wrestling, and roping. His passion for rodeo was matched only by his love for hunting, spending countless hours in the bush, guiding and making cherished memories with family and friends at hunting camps. Terry enjoyed fishing, spending many hours on Kootenay Lake and many other lakes and rivers in the area. Most of all Terry enjoyed watching the PBR. His favorite annual event was going to Eureka Mt to watch the Bull Thing. He looked forward to this every year, saying it was his favorite day of the year.

Terry's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

There will be a celebration of life at the Rotacrest Hall, Creston BC on March 8th 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cranbrook Regional Hospital, supporting the Oncology & Renal Expansion.
