Sunanda Yashwant Manerikar passed away peacefully at the age of 86 years, on Saturday, March 17, 2018 surrounded by her children. She was predeceased by her husband Yashwant Shridhar Manerikar in July 2014.
Sunanda is survived by her five children: Pradeep, Ameeta Cordell (Gilbert), Abhijit (Tracey), Zoe Agashae, and Nitin; eleven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Throughout her life in India, Luseland, SK, Crawford Bay, B.C., Nelson, B.C., Creston, B.C., and Calgary, AB, she taught Home Economics, Indian cooking, and worked part time in the toy department at Woodwards, Market Mall. She also wrote an amazing cookbook on Indian cooking. Her quiet and easy nature brought a warm coziness to any gathering she was at.
A Memorial Service was held at South Calgary Funeral Centre, 12700 Macleod Trail South (at Lake Fraser Gate), on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations being made in Sunanda's memory directly to Cure SMA, (http://curesma.ca/) in support of two of her grandchildren.
