Sophie Krestinsky

Sophie Krestinsky of Creston, B.C., passed away on Tuesday August 16, 2022 at Swan Valley Lodge, at the age of 93.
Born into a family of 10 on a Manitoba farm in 1929, she was educated in Armstrong and Vernon, B.C.. In 1952 she married Walter Krestinsky in Vernon. They lived in Medicine Hat, Vancouver, Vernon, Rosebery, and Silverton prior to settling down in Creston in 1971.
Sophie was a people-person, she loved her family and extended family. She loved having company, visiting, playing cards, cooking and making everyone feel welcome. She was an avid gardener, had loved bowling and darts, and loved to read. Her children and grandchildren were most precious to her.
Pre-deceased by her husband Walter in 1990, Sophie is survived by one son Gary(Maryanne), a daughter Bev(Brian), a daughter Marnie(Greg), and a daughter Nancy(Vic), two grandchildren John and Jessica, one brother Dennis(Bev), one sister Jean, one sister Shirley, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Our family would like to express our thanks and appreciation to Dr. Karen Persad and the staff of Creston Valley Hospital & Health Center, the staff of Crestview Village, and the staff of Swan Valley Lodge for their compassion and care of our mom.
Chapel Service will be held Friday September 2, 2022 at 11:00, at the Bethel Funeral Home in Vernon, with the Reverend Jake Krestinski officiating. After interment at Pleasant Valley Cemetery a tea service will be held at Vernon's Faith Baptist Church.
