Feb 19, 1927 - Apr 23, 2018
Rosette passed away on Monday, April 23, 2018 at Creston Valley Hospital after a short illness.

Rosette was born in Hungary to Charles and Susanna Szilagyi on February 19, 1927. She moved from Europe to southern Alberta as a child. She raised her family with her husband Herman in Grand Prairie and Peace River.

Rosette was an expert crafter and spent many years in northern Alberta teaching and judging fall fair exhibits. She retired to Creston with Herman in 1991, where she enjoyed a small orchard and gardening up until her mid-eighties.

Rosette contributed back to her community by knitting toques for new borns and many stuffed animals for the Tuck Shop at Creston Valley Hospital. A long fight with cancer limited her mobility for the past seven years, but she continued to do crossword and jigsaw puzzles, as well as knitting and reading.

Rosette is predeceased by her parents Charles and Susanna Szilagyi.

She is survived by her loving husband Herman Kastendieck, son Norman Reid, daughter Sharon Reid, and granddaughters Vanessa and Rachel.

A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.

A private family Graveside service was held on April 27, 2018.
