Robert Merle Cannon

May 24, 1934 ~ November 24, 2010

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bob Cannon. He passed away at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, AB as a result of Cushing's Disease.

Bob was born in Pamona, California. During his time in the States, Bob received his education, was married to his first wife and was blessed with two sons, Todd and Curt. During the early 60’s he relocated to Canada where he purchased a cattle ranch out of Houston, BC. In 1971 he met the love of his life, Pat Johnson, whom he married in Boswell, after a short courtship. After their marriage they had two children, Sheri and Cory, whom he was very close with.

Bob worked for the department of highways for a few years and then worked for Fording Coal in Elkford, BC, until his retirement in 1999.

Bob’s hobbies were fishing, hunting, and bowling. After retirement he took up scroll sawing and fine woodworking. Bob was always willing to lend a helping hand, and was a great husband, dad and grandpa. He loved his family dearly and lived his life being supportive and a great mentor.

Bob was predeceased by his parents Mary and Merle Cannon and his much loved son Todd (from a previous marriage).

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Pat; daughter Sheri (Trevor) Wise of Calgary, AB; sons Cory (Amanda) Cannon of Creston, BC and Curt (Steffie) Cannon of Jackson Hole, Wyoming; five grandchildren: Emma, Brice and Sofia Cannon of Creston and Trenton and Cameron Wise of Calgary, AB; two sisters, Lois Cannon of Jackson Hole, Wyoming and Doris Aki of Placerville, California; brother Lester Cannon of Placerville, California along with many more relatives and friends whom he loved dearly.

A Celebration of Life Service to be held at a later date.

Friends wishing to make a memorial contribution in Bob’s name may do so to the charity of the donor’s choice.
