Richard Silas Halladay

July 17, 1925 ~ December 1, 2010

Richard Silas Halladay passed December 1, 2010 at the Swan Valley Lodge at the age of 85 years, with his family by his side.

Richard was born to Frances and Conrad Halladay at Patience, Alberta on July 17, 1925 and received his education at Thorsby, AB.

He was married to Nellie Moore on February 14, 1952 and the couple raised five children. Richard enjoyed chariot racing, curling, hockey games, reading and wild life. He was a member of the Erickson Evangelical Covenant Church, Erickson Golden Agers, Creston Christian Businessmen and the East Kootenay Chariot Racing Association.

He was predeceased by his parents and ten siblings.

Richard will be dearly missed by his wife Nellie; children Harry (Charleen) Halladay, Vanessa (Ken) Grimm, Wenonah Halladay, Brian (Karin) Halladay and Debbie Marion; grandchildren Kurt (Wendy), Corey (Cherylee), Leasa (Sean), Jonathan (Jody), Aaron, Matt, Josh (Heather), Robynn (Ryan), Andrew (Michelle), Brice, Kyle and Jenny; nine great-grandchildren; one brother Edge (Norma) Halladay and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Celebration of Life Service was held on Monday December 6, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the Erickson Evangelical Covenant Church with Pastor Doug Stapleton officiating.

A private family entombment of ashes took place in the Bella Columbarium, Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erickson, BC prior to the service.
