Richard Roy Cranston

April 2, 1915 ~ September 14, 2016

Richard Roy Cranston passed away peacefully in his sleep at Crest View Care Village on September 14, 2016.

Roy was born in Dunrae, Manitoba on April 2, 1915. He lived and worked in that area until his mid-thirties when he moved to Saskatoon where he met and married his wife Grace. For much of Roy’s time in Saskatoon he worked for Domtar Chemicals. After retirement Roy and Grace spent half their year at Pike Lake, near Saskatoon, and the other half in Mesa, Arizona. In 1992 Roy and Grace decided to set up permanent residence in Creston, BC.

Roy was involved in many activities and organizations such as golf, bowling, bridge playing, and dancing. He has been a long time member of the Association of Canadian Travelers. Many an afternoon and evening would find him on the golf course or laughing over a hard-fought game of bridge.

The family would like to give special thanks to those friends and the staff at Crest View and Crest View Care Village who supported and cared for him. He will be missed by those who knew him.

Memorial donations may be made to BC/Yukon Division of the Cancer Society or the Cancer Centre for the Southern Interior in Kelowna.
