Raymond Brost

November 3, 1928 ~ December 22, 2012

Raymond Brost passed away on December 22, 2012 in Creston, BC at the age of 84 years.

Ray was born to parents Elsie and Emanuel Brost on November 3, 1928 in Richmound, SK.

Ray married the love of his love, Helen Scott, in Canyon, BC on June 22, 1949 and they started their family together, something that he always held dear. Ray was Helen’s rock – a constant source of support throughout their marriage, an incredible and loving father and an inspiration to his grandchildren… he never ceased to amaze them. Any time spent with Ray was very precious to his family and friends alike, creating many positive memories.

Ray was very proud to have served in the Armed Forces division of the Royal Canadian Electrical Mechanical Engineers (R.C.E.M.E.) for ten years. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 29 in Creston, BC. Some of Ray's hobbies included spending time with his beloved family, tending to his garden – where he grew the best tomatoes in town – and spending time outside with his wife, Helen, and their precious little dog, Tia. He always had open arms to welcome a friend or family member into their home.

Ray was predeceased by his parents Elsie and Emanuel Brost and brothers Elroy, Tony, Wayne and Vernon Brost.

He will be dearly missed by his beloved wife, Helen; children Larry (Carol) Brost, Su (Lyn) Klimack, Lori (Bill) Cameron and Clayton Brost; grandchildren Anita Borkowski, Colin Brost, Danielle Cameron; great-grandchildren Mordachai, Haley and Riley; and sister Lorraine (Bob).

There will be no service by request.

Friends wishing to make a memorial contribution in Ray’s name may do so to the Royal Canadian Legion – Branch 29, Box 135, Creston, BC, V0B 1G0.

The family would like to thank everyone for their love and support during this time of sorrow.
