Randy Alexander McKerracher

1965 ~ 2014


It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce that our warrior, Randy Alexander McKerracher lost his battle with cancer and passed away at the Creston Valley Hospital on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at the age of 49, with his dad and stepmother at his side.


Randy was born in Rossland, BC and moved to Elkford, BC in 1975 where he graduated from Sparwood Secondary School. He moved to Medicine Hat, AB and married Marla (Morrison) McKerracher. Randy moved his family to Lethbridge, AB and then to Thunder Bay, ON where his children were raised. In 2010 Randy moved back to BC and eventually to Creston where he met Amber Frei and resided until his passing.

Randy is predeceased by his mother, Gladys (Flanagan) McKerracher in 1993 as well as both sets of grandparents and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Randy will live on in the hearts of his children; Amy, Jillian, David, Katelyn and Miranda, also, his special partner Amber Frei who was by his side through it all. He will be forever loved and missed by Cal and Marlene McKerracher, his sister Rae (Tim) Duthie, his sister Rhonda (Glen) Miller, four nephews, three great-nephews and their families as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.


Randy's family would like to send special thanks to Dr. Ewing and the staff at the Creston Valley Hospital for the kind, compassionate care that Randy received during his final days.

A Service was held to Celebrate Randy's Life on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 2 pm in the new Community Center in Elkford, BC.

In lieu of flowers, his family would gratefully accept donations for his five children.
